Was the Steve Harrison Quantum Leap Book Marketing and Author Business course worth it?
I say yes. Did I make the money back? Not with my book but I have other products and web sites.
Did other people make the money back? Yes.
Did some not even come close to making the money back? Yes.
Because that's the way people are. Sign up for things, don't do the work and guess what? No result.
I saw people go from making $200 a day for consulting to earning $60,000 per contract. Another woman started a successful radio program that doubled her consulting practice.
A man worked out a deal to do joint marketing with Jack Canfield.
I don't want to consult. I don't want to be a speaker. I have no desire to be a blogger. I just want to sell books and take my message to the world through the radio. That isn't the way to riches. But then again that wasn't and still isn't my goal.
Here's what happened.
I started with no book. I now have a completed book.
I've been on multiple radio shows. The copy provided by Steve's team is excellent.
My book is doing well on the kindle.
Why are these two things important? Because my target market is educated women in their 50's. You won't find most of them on twitter or reading blogs but you will find them listening to the radio and a large number have the kindle.
How has targeting 50 year old women worked for me? They buy books and they can afford to buy multiple copies to hand out to friends. I get orders for 10 - 15 books all the time. A 20 year old might want to do that but probably couldn't afford to.
The quantum leap program. If you can afford it, I recommend it. Whatever your level it will take you not only to the next level but you truly will make a quantum leap. And no I'm not an affiliate nor am I associated with Steve Harrison as any kind of expert.
I received tons of consulting for every step of the book making/marketing/spinning off businesses process.
Steve was always flexible. When I told him I wanted to focus on radio and had no interest in television he gave me extra time with the radio expert rather than having me spend time with the television person. When I wanted early consulting from the story telling expert he arranged it.
Steve is also a brilliant marketer. He will brain storm marketing ideas with you and they are always incredible. He's a genius at that.

Day 34
Today another big box came from Steve Harrison of Bradley Communications. It contained the Million Dollar Author program; 14 video dvd's with training by a variety of experts, 40 CD's with another variety of experts including Joe Vitale, 2 spiral bound books and a "getting started" cd. Information overload!
No wonder Steve gives us a personal coaching call on how and what to focus on.

Steve Harrison's Quantum Leap: Doing the Due Diligence
If you're like I am, you've been thinking of doing the Quantum Leap program but you're not sure if it's worth the money. That's a big chunk of change to most of us.
I decided to do it and to post this blog as I do. I won't be sharing the training since all attendees sign a contract not to, but I'll share enough so you get a flavor of it.
What I did first.
Due diligence. I looked for reviews, scam articles, testimonials, complaints.
I ran the numbers - could I get the same material/training for less?
I ran the numbers on the bonuses - used MY numbers not Steve's.
Here's what I found.
Reviews/Scams/Testimonials
I could find only two and one is offline as I write this.
http://absolutewrite.com/forums/showthread.php?t=37672
The one offline had a comment posted by a man who signed up for the program, got cold feet after 5 months and asked for his money back - and Steve Harrison gave it to him.
The Numbers:
Training:
How to write a book within 12 weeks _ I could buy a couple of books $50.00
How to sell books by the truckload - Ditto
How to get paid 2500 to 10K per speech - Ditto
How to launch your book to bestseller status
(I think this is the "trick Amazon thing") - Ditto
How to get your book published - Buy Dan Poynter or others $30
How to use social media - ditto $20
How to market online - $200 (not easy to learn)
How to do teleseminars - buy a book $50
How to create your own audio/video products $30
How to write copy that sells - again a book $20
How to get others to promote you to their lists (included in marketing online above)
TOTAL $550
Bonuses:
Three conferences of 2-3 days each. I give this a $1200 value based on business conferences I've attended. I'm making my values low. A full day with Jack Canfield is probably worth that. I've gotten more out of just one hour with Jack than many half day trainings provide so I'm expecting a lot from the day. Also interaction with other authors/entrepreneurs is worth a lot. $1200
Face to Face with Key Decision Makers: $500
Website or RTIR Ads: I'm going with the ads. You can probably get a good website from http://99designs.com/ for under a thousand dollars. I paid $2000 for mine but I wanted some special features. As for the ads: I like that they write the copy and do some coaching beforehand to get you media ready. The RTIR ads are $3,200.
Four 30 minute one-on-one consultations with a former Oprah guest booker. $200
One-hour consulation package with a nationally recognized image consultant. $200.
I'd make it higher if it was more than just suggestions ie: actual haircut, make-over, shopping trip
Monthly telesminars: $2400 (based on other high end coaching programs I've been in)
Four one-on-one consultations with Steve and/or Bill: $800 again based on other coaching programs
Quantum Leap Marketing Tool Box $300
I figure he probably sells this for about $500-600
Free critiques by Steve/Bill or a specialist on all materials, website and more: $1000
I plan to use them for all of it over and over
Audio/Video of the Million Dollar Author Conference $200
Most guys tape these and resell them for anywhere from $197 to $497. I went low
Publicity Scout for a year $200
Seasonal Pitch Alert $200
Steve and Bill's Golden Rolodex: $200
I'm pretty sure he sells this to the list for about $500
Total Value Training, Conferences and Bonuses: $12,650
I decided it was worth at least as much as he was charging and I get a year of coaching from it. It's not just a one shot seminar or meeting.
I decided to just take the risk. When I signed up, you could come for the first two days of the first three day conference. If you decided it wasn't going to work for you, you could ask for your money back at the end of the second day. I kept that in mind.
My first conference was December 8-10, 2009.
